Atkinson Strawberry Farm: A Fun Family Outing in Spring, TX

March 1, 2020 by Two Pink Peonies 25 Comments

Atkinson Farm

Atkinson Farm is a pick your own strawberry farm located in Spring, TX. They are open from March 1 to October 31 during the year. If you’re looking for a fun family outing you should definitely check this local farm out.

Atkinson Farm is located at 3217 Spring Cypress Road, Spring, TX 77388. They are open seven days a week. Atkinson Farm makes a great weekend family outing, spring break activity, or if you’re a stay-at-home-mom of a toddler this would a fun activity. Remember they are only open from March 1 to October 31.

Their produce is used by a lot of local restaurants in the Houston area. I absolutely love supporting local businesses.

When you arrive there is no need to check in unless you want to buy a bucket or see what the price will be per pound before you start picking. You can bring and use your own bucket for free but if you forget they have buckets for sale. Since we are watching our pennies we brought our own buckets. I think they were better since they are smaller buckets and they were easier for my toddlers to carry. Just be sure to read the rules before you start picking!

They have lots and lots of rows of strawberry plants to pick and they also have a cute little store that sells jams, jellies, honey mustard, and fresh produce.

We picked so many delicious strawberries and we had a blast doing it. The strawberries were so fresh and good! My kids ate a ton of them. We also picked up some fresh produce from their store to cook for dinner. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by and picking some strawberries. For more information be sure to check the Atkinson Farm website and definitely check their Facebook before you go as sometimes they get picked out!

That sounds like great family fun! We don’t have a place like that near us, so we are stuck with produce from the grocery store. This would be a great activity for homeschoolers.

What a cool place! My hometown had Donaldson Farms where you can pick your own strawberries as well. They are the BEST!

This farm looks so adorable! And so clean! Those rows of strawberries are calling my name – haha. I love taking my girls to local farms and supporting local businesses also. It’s so important to me to show them how hard people work for their money and what dedication and love they put into their business. Thanks for sharing!

I’m jealous . I take my son strawberry picking in Georgia, but ours doesn’t have a grocery store like Atkinson’s does. We would love to be able to get fresh produce with our strawberry picking.

This is great! We love picking fresh fruit. Last year we went blueberry picking, it was a lot of fun! Such a great way to occupy our kids without a screen in their face.

What a great place to visit, Atkinson is my maiden name. I wonder if we are related. I know the Atkinson’s are all over.
