My daughter loves all things dresses and princesses so I thought it would be fun for her to design her own dress using this dress template. You can use crayons, paints, glitter, sequins, stickers, or whatever else you may have in your craft bin to design and decorate your own gown!
Use as a coloring page
To design your own dress. This coloring page is great to use with crayons, paints, water colors, tempera paint sticks, stickers, glitter, and more. Your child can get creative with whatever is in your craft basket.

Re-use character lids
I don’t buy my kids juices very often but they occasionally get them as a treat. These character lids ares so cool but I wasn’t able to think of very many ways to re-use them until we did this activity. We repurposed one lid for our activity.
How to make a doll with this template
To use the dress template to make a paper towel tube doll, begin by gathering your supplies. You will need:
- The printable dress template (below)
- Scissors (we used safety scissors)
- Tape
- Pen to draw a face or you can re-use a character lid
- Construction paper (for the hair)
- Paper towel tube
Begin by rolling the construction paper up then place it in your tube. Cut it into sections and then cut two sections short for bangs. You can use a rubber band to hold it down for a few minutes that way it stays in place better.
Draw a face or use a character lid. Then design and decorate the dress template. Tape the dress on the doll. Our lid stayed in place but adults can also hot glue it on for a better hold.
