Positive Affirmations for Christians
Have you heard of affirmations before? An affirmation is really anything we tell ourselves and honestly, a lot of our self-talk can be really negative! I started to use positive affirmations to improve my outlook and attitude in life and found that they really helped. But the further I looked into affirmations, the more I found that they were too money or success focused and while there is nothing wrong with money or success, as a Christian, I have to recognize that these things can become idols. I developed some of my own scripture based affirmations that I can repeat to myself when I’m stressed, upset, or having a bad day. Do affirmations really work? I believe they do, thoughts are powerful things. They are at least worth a try, so below are a few of my positive affirmations for Christians.
I am a child of God.
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. – Galatians 3:26
Nothing is too big for God.
I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? – Jeremiah 32:27
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. – Psalm 139:14
Grace is enough.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christs power may rest on me. That is why, for Christs sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:8-10
He will give me strength.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10
Nothing can stop God’s plan for my life.
For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? – Isaiah 14:27
God can turn any situation around.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
