Although sometimes bison can taste kind of gamey, the flavors go really well together in the chili and the ingredients, especially the sweet potato reduce the gamey flavor. 1. Add a fried-egg to up the protein and serve it over a bed of greens for a mean and green hearty bowl of chili. Seriously, you need to add this Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Chili to your next meal prep because it s so easy to make. And, obviously, quite versatile. And it freezes beautifully so you don t have to slog through an entire pot of chili just divvy up the leftovers into smaller, freezer-safe containers so you have an easy reheat and eat option later on down the road.

  2. Great recipe! I’ll be saving this! Sweet potato is a great accompaniment to red meat, I have a recipe for venison stew that calls for sweet potatoes. I’d swap out buffalo for our own grass fed Scottish highland beef we raise on our homestead in this recipe but I know it would just as good! Thank you 🙂
