This Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity with stickers with was such a fun activity I did with my homeschool preschool group. I was really struggling with how to keep my toddler and baby entertained all day, but we recently joined a homeschool preschool group. All of the moms take turns hosting and teaching. It was my turn to come up with a lesson, so this is what I created. But please don’t worry! If you aren’t part of a learning play dates group or home school co-op, this is still a great activity to do with your child. Having an activity to do with your child can be a total boredom buster too! It can be so hard to keep tiny humans entertained all day.

My son is borderline obsessed with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. So much so, I think at only two years old he has most of it memorized. I knew that I had to somehow come up with a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity to hold his attention.
How to do this Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity
For this Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity, I read the book to our group of toddlers and then I signed along the signs for the alphabet. We only went over the signs for A, B, and C again at the end of the book. We are a group of two and three year olds so we didn’t want to overwhelm them with too much.
The kids are little sponges, though! They totally picked up on the signs for A, B, and C. It was awesome. The signing is totally optional though! We are a multilingual family so I enjoy incorporating it anyway I can. If you want to incorporate an ASL lesson, be sure to check out my post on teaching the ASL alphabet to toddlers and preschoolers.
If you want to keep this Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity simple it is also a lot of fun just to read the book. I feel like Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is such an entertaining book to read.
Next, I printed the printable from Making Learning Fun under their Chicka Chicka Boom Boom section. I made the alphabet stickers with just a regular black pen and circle stickers. The kids had a blast matching up the stickers to the letter on the tree.
Not only was this Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity entertaining, it was also inexpensive. I just had to print out a few sheets and buy some circle stickers and we already had a copy of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom since it is one of our family favorites.

If you are able to check the book out from your local library that would also be a great option. Since my kids love the book so much, I wanted a copy we could read any time we wanted. It is one of our favorite books that we read all the time.
