To make this banana bread begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Melt your butter and set it aside to cool.
Next, peel and mash your bananas with a fork. In a large mixing bowl combine the dry ingredients (flour, oats, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and sugar). Stir well with a large spoon.
Add in the wet ingredients (bananas, eggs, vanilla, butter). Mix with a hand mixer until batter is smooth. Add in the chocolate chips and stir well with a large spoon.
Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 55 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees. A toothpick should come out clean from the middle to indicate the bread is done.
Notes
Mash your bananas well so there are no lumpy bits.
Feel free to add your favorite type of chocolate chip. We love milk chocolate but dark chocolate or semi-sweet are good in this banana bread as well.
