Need a festive appetizer? This Christmas guacamole not only tastes great but it is such a fun dish to make for holiday parties and potlucks. Serve this dip with red and green tortilla chips for an extra festive touch!
3large avocadosThe avocados should give in to your touch but still be a little firm. See note for small avocados*
½ cupdiced white onion
¾cupcherry or grape tomatoesquartered (plus some whole or half tomatoes for the "holly" on the wreath)
3tablespoonsfresh cilantrofinely chopped (plus some that has not been chopped for the "holly" on the wreath)
1small lime**
1teaspoongarlic powder
sea salt to taste
1jalapeño (optional)diced with the seeds removed
Instructions
Slice your avocados in half and remove the seed and peel. Mash the avocados with a fork.
Next, quarter your grape tomatoes and then mix them in with the onion.
Wash your cilantro and pat dry. Remove the stems and finely chop it. Add the cilantro into the mixture with the garlic and salt to taste.
Add the juice of the lime then stir well.
Place a small bowl in the center of a dinner plate. Then spoon the guacamole around the bowl.
Use tomatoes (I used grape tomatoes and cut them half) and cilantro leaves to form "holly" on the wreath.
Remove the small bowl carefully then serve with chips.
