Crockpot Black Eyed Peas
Looking for a side for dinner, something to bring to a potluck, or do you want good luck for New Years? Well, these crockpot blackeyed peas are the way to go!
- ½ pound dried black eyed peas If possible soak the beans overnight for the best flavor
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic salt heaping tbsp
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 medium white onion chopped into fine pieces
- 4 pieces bacon sliced into small pieces (uncooked)
- 4 cups water
Generously drizzle olive oil on the bottom of your crockpot (about 4 tablespoons) then add the beans, seasonings, and bacon pieces before adding the water.
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
Check and add more water as needed.
