Outback Copycat Alice Springs Chicken

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp regular mustard
  • 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • cup honey
  • cup mayonnaise
  • 6 strips of bacon chopped into pieces uncooked
  • 1 can mushrooms (about 4 ounces) drained
  • ½ cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Monterrey jack cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste


  • To make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe, gather your ingredients.
  • Then add the mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise in a small bowl and whisk until they are well mixed.
  • Chop the bacon into small pieces and begin to fry it in a pan on medium heat.
  • When the bacon begins to cook, season the chicken with salt and pepper and then add the chicken to the bacon. Cook for approximately three minutes (note that the chicken will NOT be done).
  • In an oven safe pan (I used a glass pyrex pan), add the chicken breasts and cover them with the prepared honey mustard, bacon pieces, mushrooms, and cheese.
  • Bake for approximately 30 at minutes at 350 degrees or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
