Garlic Brown Sugar Whole Chicken in the Slow Cooker
Making a whole chicken in your crockpot or slow cooker is easier than you think. This garlic and brown sugar whole chicken slow cooker recipe is the perfect blend of sweet and savory.
1tablespoonbrown sugar and bourbon seasoningoptional
½cupchicken stock or broth
salt and pepperto taste
Instructions
Begin by removing the gizzards from inside the chicken and discarding them.
Next, spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
Place half of your carrots and onions in the slow cooker.
Rub the chicken with the brown sugar, bourbon and brown sugar seasoning (optional), minced garlic, and salt and pepper.
Place the whole chicken in your slow cooker and then add about half of the onion inside of the bird. Place the remaining onion and carrots around the bird.
Add the chicken stock and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Notes
You'll want to make sure your chicken has an internal temperature of 165 F degrees.Remember when serving that this chicken tends to fall apart (it's a good thing!) and there will be small bones to look out for like a rotisserie chicken.Nutritional information is an estimate only.
