This Amish coffee cake is an easy old fashioned recipe. This coffee cake uses common pantry ingredients and is amazing with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients
For the cake

all purpose flour

cup
sugar

teaspoon
baking soda
1
teaspoon
baking powder
½
teaspoon
cinnamon
½
teaspoon
salt
½
cup
unsalted butter
softened to room temperature (1 stick)
2
large eggs
1
cup
sour cream
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
For the crumble
⅓
cup
sugar
⅓
cup
brown sugar
½
teaspoon
cinnamon
nuts
if desired
Instructions
For the cake
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 x 9 inch pan.
Mix the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon). Stir well with a large spoon.
Add the wet ingredients and mix well with a mixer.
Pour the batter into the 9 x 9 inch pan. There may be extra batter left, do not overfill your pan.
For the crumble
Mix all the ingredients for the crumbs in a bowl. Spread evenly over the top of the cake before baking. Add nuts, if desired.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the middle.
