large apples
peeled, cored, and sliced (Golden Delicious or Gala work best but most apples will work as long as they aren't too tart)

water

corn starch

unsalted butter
melted

brown sugar
½
teaspoon
cinnamon

pinch
nutmeg

teaspoon
salt

Instructions
Peel, core, and cut your apples into slices then arrange them in a greased 8x8 inch casserole dish.

In a medium bowl whisk together the water and corn starch.
½ cup water,
2 tablespoons corn starch
Next, stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk until everything is combined.
½ cup brown sugar,
½ teaspoon cinnamon,
1 pinch nutmeg,
¼ teaspoon salt
Pour the melted butter over the apples then the cinnamon brown sugar mixture over them.
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the apples are tender. Stir every 15 to 20 minutes.
