In a large mixing bowl combine the dry ingredients. Mix with a large spoon.
1 cup all purpose flour, 1 cup yellow cornmeal, ⅓ cup sugar, 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder, ¾ teaspoon salt
Next, mix in the wet ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
1 cup buttermilk, ⅓ cup vegetable oil, 1 large egg
Pour into your pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the middle.
