These Brown Sugar Rice Crispy Treats are hands down the best rice crispy treats you'll ever eat! The brown sugar takes a classic recipe to the next level of yum.
16ouncesmini marshmallows (divided - set aside one cup to mix in with the cereal)
½cupunsalted butter(1 stick of butter)
1cupbrown sugarI used light brown sugar
⅛teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and set aside.
Measure out your rice cereal and one cup of marshmallows. Add them to a large bowl and gently mix.

In a large pot, melt the butter then add the remaining mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until everything is well combined. Keep the heat on medium or medium high. Melt everything slowly and stir continuously.

Add in the brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
1 cup brown sugar, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Pour the mixture over the rice cereal and marshmallows and gently stir until everything is combined.
Add the mixture to your greased pan and gently pat into place. You can spray your hands with non-stick spray or use a spatula. Do not press too hard or it will cause your treats to be tough/hard. Let them sit for at least one hour before serving.
