Ingredients
For the apple mixture

apples
peeled and cut (about 6 cups of apples)

light brown sugar

cinnamon

fresh lemon juice
For the topping

sugar

cup
all purpose flour

quick oats

pinch
salt

teaspoon
cinnamon

unsalted butter
(cold)

chopped pecans

chopped walnuts
Instructions
For the apple mixture
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 F degrees and spraying a baking dish (8 x 8 inch) with non-stick spray.
Next, add the chopped apples with the brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and lemon juice.
6 apples,
¼ cup light brown sugar,
1 teaspoon cinnamon,
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Mix well until the apples are all coated. Add the dishes to the baking dish.
For the topping
Add the mixture for the topping together.
½ cup sugar,
¾ cup all purpose flour,
¾ cup quick oats,
1 pinch salt,
½ teaspoon cinnamon,
½ cup unsalted butter
Use a pastry cutter to combine everything. The mixture should resemble pea sized crumbs. Stir in the chopped nuts
¼ cup chopped pecans,
¼ cup chopped walnuts
Stir well then add the topping to the apple mixture.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the crisp is bubbly. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
