Ingredients

¼ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper or to taste
½ teaspoon salt or to taste
1 pinch sugar
2 cups milk whole or 2% work best
¼ cup heavy cream
½ teaspoon chicken base I used the brand "Better Than Bouillon"

Instructions

Melt your butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
¼ cup unsalted butter
Once it is melted whisk in your flour. Cook for about two minutes while whisking continuously.
¼ cup all purpose flour
Slowly add in the other ingredients while whisking.
1 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 pinch sugar, 2 cups milk, ¼ cup heavy cream, ½ teaspoon chicken base
Turn the heat to medium and cook while continuously whisking. Cook until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency. Give it time to thicken.

If your gravy is too thick just add a little more milk.
If the gravy is too thin just let it cook a little more. It'll thicken up. You can also add two teaspoons of flour to help the process.
