This autumn wreath for preschoolers craft is so fun! It is great for a homeschool preschool project, a fun activity at home, or for a preschool classroom or daycare setting.

This paper plate wreath with leaves is a super easy craft to do. It’s a great way to get into the fall spirit (which is my absolute favorite season)! It’s also a low prep and no mess craft project which is always great.

What supplies are needed to make this paper plate wreath craft?

  • Printed leaves (see free printable below)
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue or tape
  • Paper plates

Do I have to use crayons?

You could also use paint, markers, or colored pencils for this activity. I prefer to use crayons whenever possible because they’re a lot less messy than paint.

How to complete this paper plate wreath with leaves craft

Begin by downloading and printing the free leaves printable below. Have your child color their leaves with their desired colors of choice. While they are coloring the leaves, cut out the middle part of a dinner sized paper plate. When they are done with the leaves, let your child color their paper plate ring with fall colors of their choice. While they are coloring cut out the leaves for them. Either tape or hot glue the leaves on their plate for them when done.

Other tips for this project

You can also print additional sheets of leaves and cut them out beforehand to make the process faster. Adding fall themed stickers would also be a fun touch as well.

If you have older children they can also cut the leaves themselves but since mine are still young, I cut and glue for them.

Such a cute project idea! We don’t have much of a real fall in northwest Florida, so I love making and buying wreaths to help it out a little bit!
