The Book Bundler Review

I am in no way affiliated or associated with The Book Bundler all thoughts are my own.

I recently saw ads on both Facebook and Instagram for The Book Bundler and as an avid thrifter and now mom of two under two I had to check it out. I don’t always have time to visit my local thrift stores, or well, most any store for that matter just because I’m incredibly busy with my tiny humans right now. I’m all for getting a good deal online, so I decided to place an order for a set of board books with The Book Bundler.

How does it work?

The Book Bundler offers a variety of different bundles of books including board books for babies and toddlers, preschool books, gradeschool books, young adult fiction, sets and series, along with many other different types of bundles. These are used books and they include a replacement guarantee. You are able to select the type of bundle you want but not the individual books in the bundle.

What Did I Get?

I decided to order a “beater” bundle of board books which means the books aren’t in as good of condition as the regular bundles. I received 45 different board books. There were a variety of books in my order, mostly older books (think ten to even twenty years old) but that was OK with me because they happened to be some books I remembered as a child.

There were a lot of miscellaneous titles but also some recognizable authors such as Sandra Boynton, Mary Murphy, and Patricia Polacco and titles that included Winnie the Pooh and Sesame Street characters. Most but not all of the books were in OK shape by my standards.

The Good

I don’t know about you, but I start to go a little crazy reading the same books day in and day out, especially before my daughter turned 6 months old because it was about that time when I felt more confident in taking them to play dates or short trips so we spent A LOT of time at home. I also think a variety of books is great for maintaining your child’s interest in reading.

There were also books that I probably wouldn’t have chosen if I were doing the picking which was good in a way because it gave us a different perspective. My son absolutely loved a book that was included called, “A Colorful Cleanup,” which surprisingly included all of the corresponding flashcards.

The Bad

I did receive two books that I had to throw away. One book had some ancient and really gross food remnants in it and the other was just in really bad shape. The Book Bundler does offer a replacement policy but at the time my hands were too full with my children to visit their policy.

There were also a lot of books that you can get at the Dollar Tree and some smaller books which aren’t awful because I can keep them in the diaper bag but it’s good to know what you’re getting. We also received four books we already had (I am a thrifter, so this may not be an issue for you). I ended up giving them to my mom for when my children visit her.

Would I Reorder?

I think with 40ish new books we’re good until my children are a bit older and need more advanced books but I would absolutely do an order for Spanish books. The Book Bundler also offers foreign language book bundles time to time (they tend to sell out fairly quickly) and we are a bilingual household.

If you have a high quality thrift store near you then you may want to pass. If you don’t or if you’re like me and have trouble getting out of the houses with both your kids then it’s a great deal and you should definitely check out The Book Bundler.
