Fall is just around the corner, it is my favorite time of year! I love the cooler weather (well, sometimes we have cooler weather here in Texas and sometimes we don’t), pumpkin spice everything, and Halloween of course. It also means that it’s almost time to start decorating for Halloween and doing all the spooky crafts with my kids.
We are super lucky because we live in a neighborhood that goes all out for Halloween! It’s so much fun, especially for the kids. I thought it would be a good idea to create some spooky printables so that my kids could help decorate for Halloween.

Why you’ll love this template
This ghost template is so much fun. You don’t have to do just a plain white ghost, things like puffy paint, tissue paper, crayons, and glitter are fun ways you can decorate this ghost.
Ghost puppets
We used an empty paper towel tube to create ghost puppets. I think that they would also look cute as decorations if you lined a few up in a row. My kids had fun flying them around the house.
Tissue paper
My kids had a blast ripping up white tissue paper and gluing it on their ghost template. This was probably their favorite way to decorate this printable.
Puffy paint
To make puffy paint combine equal parts non-toxic white glue and shaving cream. Next, add a few drops of food coloring (if desired, I left the food coloring out for the ghost). Any brand of white glue will work.
I recommend using scrap paper or newspaper under your ghost template if you use puffy paint as it can bleed through.
Glitter
Glitter ghosts are sparkly and fun. We used a glue stick, poured glitter over the ghost, and then shook the excess off in the trashcan.
Other fun ideas
Crayons, cotton balls, and using the template for cutting practice (for older children) are some other fun ideas for this ghost. If you have any other ideas, please be sure to share them in the comments below!
