🖍️ Supplies needed
For this paper plate wreath, you will need:
- Paper plates: When buying paper plates for crafts, I recommend getting the uncoated kind so paint or crayon adhere to it better.
- Scissors: If you are doing this activity with toddlers be sure to use plastic safety scissors or cut the art for them.
- Glue: My son thought our glue needed some eye stickers in case you were wondering! You can also use a glue stick or tape.
- Crayons, markers, or paint: We used all crayon for our wreaths but you can use paint or markers too. You could even use a combination of different art supplies like paint for the paper plate and colored pencils for the art.
- A pipe cleaner or string and tape (optional): To affix to the back of the wreath to be able to hang it up.
- Printable art: The printable art was drawn by me and is available to download below.
✂️ How to make (step by step guide)
Begin by coloring or painting a paper plate your desired color (image 1). We did orange but purple, green, or black are also festive Halloween colors.
Next, fold your paper plate in half and cut a hole in the middle (image 2).
Color your art for the wreath (image 3).
Next, cut your art out and add it to the wreath with glue or tape (image 4). If you like, you can add a piece of ribbon or a pipe cleaner folded in half to the back with tape (image 5). This will allow you to hang the wreath up.
⭐ Tips
- Get creative. You can also use other supplies you have on hand like stickers, glitter, tempera paint, etc.
