This Fourth of July fruit tray is a fun and festive treat to make to celebrate Independence Day! This fruit tray is so easy to put together and sure to be a crowd favorite at parties.
This American flag fruit tray is so easy to set up. It also takes advantage of all the yummy summer berries. It uses fresh strawberries, blueberries, white chocolate chips, and I used a store bought angel food cake to make it easy.
You can serve this fruit tray with whipped cream or Cool Whip on the side or just eat it as is. It’s really refreshing and my kids loved it!

About this American flag fruit tray
I want to note that the actual American flag has 50 white stars for each state and 13 stripes to represent the 13 original colonies. This is a fruit tray and not an accurate representation of the actual American flag. It is just for fun.
Ingredients needed
For this fruit tray, you will need:
- Strawberries: You could also use raspberries or watermelon but my family especially loved the strawberries in this fruit tray.
- Blueberries: You’ll need about one pint of blueberries.
- Angel food cake: I used one from my local grocery store’s bakery but you can also make your own, if desired.
- White chocolate chips (optional): For the stars in the flag.
- Whipped topping (optional): Such as Cool Whip or whipped cream, for serving.
What type of dish to use
I recommend using a 9 x 13 inch dish or alternatively you could use a sheet pan tray. I used a white baking dish.
