Deviled eggs are such a delicious and classic appetizer. I see them at so many holiday potlucks and dinners. These Thanksgiving deviled eggs are such a fun way to add your own festive flair to a dish.
These turkey deviled eggs are so much fun. My kids normally don’t eat deviled eggs but they had no problem trying these out. They’re also quick and easy to make.

🦃 Ingredients needed
- Large eggs: You will need six large eggs.
- Baking soda: To help peel the egg shells off.
- Mayonnaise and mustard: For the deviled egg filling.
- Relish: You can use sweet or dill relish.
- Paprika: To sprinkle on the deviled eggs, but you can leave this out if you’re not a fan of paprika.
- Salt and pepper: To season the eggs with.
- Candy eyes: These are edible but you can also remove them before eating, if desired.
- Red bell pepper and orange bell pepper: To make the feathers with.
🔪 Equipment needed
Large pot for boiling the eggs, a medium bowl for the egg yolk mixture, and a fork to mash everything together.
⏲️ How to make (step by step guide)
Begin by boiling a large pot of water with half of a teaspoon of baking soda and the eggs. The eggs should be covered with an additional inch of water above them. Bring to rolling boil and then cover. Reduce the heat to a simmer. Let the eggs cook for 10 minutes.
Carefully drain the hot water from the pot. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice and cold water. Let them cool.
While the eggs are cooling slice your bell peppers into thin strips. Use one slice of the orange to cut out triangles for the beaks.
Once the eggs are cool enough to handle, remove the shells.
Slice the eggs in half and add then add the egg yolks to a medium bowl. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, and relish to the bowl. Mash the yolk in with other ingredients then mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add the egg yolk mixture back into the egg whites. Sprinkle with paprika. Add the thin strips of bell pepper (I did four and alternated red and orange strips). Add the beaks. Add the candy eyes right before serving (they have a tendency to fade).
👩🏻🍳 Tips
- If transporting these to a Thanksgiving dinner add the candy eyes at location. They have a tendency to fade when there is condensation in a Tupperware container or egg container.
- You can easily double this recipe if you are feeding a crowd.
♨️ Variations
- If you like spicy deviled eggs try adding a few dashes of hot sauce (like Tobasco) into the egg yolk mixture.
- Don’t like candy eyes or don’t have any on hand? You can add small pieces of black olives for eyes.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
🥡 How to store
Store any leftover eggs in your fridge in an airtight container. They will be good for two days after making.
