Have you ever wondered how to make pin wheel sandwiches? They are super easy to make. I love making them for lunches, parties, potlucks, baby showers, and more!
I’m going to be honest, I never know how easy it was to make pin wheel sandwiches before but now they tend to make a monthly appearance either for lunches or for parties. They taste great and plus my kids love them.
These sandwiches are also super versatile. You can swap out the ham for salami, add tomato, or whatever cheese you prefer. This is a great base recipe to keep as is or experiment with.

🥪 Ingredients needed
For these sandwiches, you will need:
- Tortillas: You will need five, ten-inch tortillas. I used a combination of spinach and regular flour tortillas. Whole wheat tortillas are also awesome for these pin wheels.
- Cream cheese: You will need one 8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened to room temperature.
- Green onions: You will need three green onions sliced with the ends removed.
- Garlic powder: To give the pin wheels a little bit of spice.
- Ham and turkey: I used combination of ham and turkey but another one of my favorites are turkey and salami. Feel free to experiment a little with the sandwich meats.
- Swiss cheese: Other cheeses also work well but I like the mildness of the Swiss in these.
- Lettuce: You’ll need about five pieces of lettuce.
🔪 Equipment needed
You will need a medium bowl, mixer, plastic storage wrap (such as Clingwrap), and a knife.
🥣 How to make (step by step guide)
To make these pin wheels, begin by adding your cream cheese and garlic powder in a medium size bowl. Mix with a hand mixer until well combined. Stir in the sliced green onions.
Spread the mixture on a tortilla. Next, add the Swiss cheese. Add the turkey and ham. Add the lettuce.
Roll up the tortilla and then cover with plastic storage wrap. Let the wraps chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes then slice.
👩🏻🍳 Tips
- Wrap and let the pin wheels chill so they stick together better.
