I think it is always super handy to have a recipe for bubbles on hand. My kids have spilled so much bubble solution and sometimes it ends in tears when there are no more bubbles. These unbreakable bubbles take only five minutes to make and are great for all those empty bubble wands we keep accumulating.
I have been trying to get my kids outdoors more and we are doing the 1,000 hours outside challenge. Even our small yard seems to work and my kids really enjoy it too. Having a few activities we can do outdoors has helped us to get outside too. These bubbles were great for an afternoon outside.
Are these bubbles really unbreakable?
While they last much longer than regular bubbles these bubbles will eventually pop. They are a lot of fun to make and see floating around.
What ingredients do I need to make unbreakable bubbles?
I have played around with this recipe several times. I find that to make these bubbles really last awhile you need both corn syrup and glycerine. The starch will help them keep their shape as well.
To make the bubble solution, you will need:
- Dish soap (any brand or color will work)
- White corn syrup
- Corn starch
- Bubble wands
How to make unbreakable bubbles
To make these unbreakable bubbles, gather and measure out your ingredients. You will need:
- 3 cups of water
- ½ cup of dish soap (any brand or color will work)
- ⅓ cup white corn syrup
- ⅓ cup glycerine
- 2 tablespoons of corn starch
In a bowl or large tupperware container combine the water, soap, white corn syrup, glycerine, and corn starch. Whisk everything together. Remove the excess bubbles from the top with a large spoon (the bubbles on top won’t make for very good bubbles).
