🥓 Ingredients needed

ingredients needed to make bacon wrapped dates with cream cheese

This recipe is really simple to make. All you will need are the following:

  • Dates: I bought pitted dates but you can use regular dates too, just remove the pits before using.
  • Bacon: Use your favorite kind.
  • Cream cheese: I recommend using regular full fat cream cheese.

🔪 Equipment needed

You will need a baking sheet and toothpicks.

⏲️ Recipe instructions (step by step guide)

step by step guide on how to make bacon wrapped dates with cream cheese

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Soak your toothpicks in a cup of water (this will help to keep them from splitting while baking).

Next, remove the pits from your dates (skip if you have pitted dates). Stuff with a small amount of cream cheese (I used a little more than a teaspoon in each).

Wrap with a slice of bacon that has been cut in half and poke a toothpick through.

Place on a baking tray. I lined mine with parchment paper (not wax paper) for an easier clean up.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until bacon is nicely browned. Turn about half way through. Use paper towels to soak up any extra bacon grease once cooled.

📖 Variations

  • Add a little brown sugar to the cream cheese for a sweet twist.

👩🏻‍🍳 Tips

  • Use parchment paper (not wax paper) for an easier clean up.

🧾 How to store leftovers

Store any leftover dates in an airtight container in your fridge.
