💭 Why you’ll love this craft
This craft is very easy to set up and a great way to talk about diversity. You can use this paper plate craft to help toddlers and preschoolers learn more about and remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
🖍️ Supplies needed
This paper plate craft is very simple to set up for kids. You need just a few basic supplies:
- Plain paper plates
- Printable hearts (see below)
- Colors of the World Crayons (by Crayola): These are a great set of crayons to keep on hand at home or in a classroom. They are a wonderful way to celebrate diversity.
- Tape or glue
✂️ How to make (step by step guide)
Begin by printing the hearts for the wreath (see how to download below). Next, paint or color a paper plate whatever color you like (image 1).
Next, fold the paper plate in half and cut a circle out from the center (image 2).
Color each heart using the skin toned crayons (image 3). I used all two pages of hearts for my wreath but you can use however many you like. Put the hearts on the wreath using tape or glue. (image 4).
You can tape string or a pipe cleaner on the back to hang the wreath up with.
- If you like there are also World of Color (Skin Tone) colored pencils or markers.
- You can put a creative spin on this craft. Use whatever supplies you have on hand (stickers, glitter, markers, paint, etc).
