These philly cheesesteak sliders with ground beef are perfect for a big game day, parties, potlucks, or a weeknight dinner. They are absolutely delicious and loaded with flavor!
I don’t know about you, but I’m a bargain shopper. Sales racks, clearances, and buying in bulk are some of my favorite ways to save our family money. I really stocked up on some ground beef when it was on sale, so I had to make these ground beef philly cheesesteak sliders.
These sliders are so tasty and they are also super easy to make. They are smothered in cheese and made on sweet Hawaiian rolls. These sliders are a fun spin on the classic philly cheesesteak recipe. My family inhaled these sandwiches.

Ingredients needed
For this recipe, you will need:
- Hawaiian buns: Such as King’s Hawaiian. You’ll need a 12 count which is about 15 ounces.
- Ground beef: You’ll need one pound of ground beef.
- Salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder: To season the meat with.
- Bell pepper: You’ll need one small bell pepper with the stem and membranes removed and then sliced.
- Onion: You’ll need one small white onion, sliced.
- Provolone cheese: To melt on top.
- Butter: This is to saute the onion and bell pepper in, you can also substitute olive oil.
- Mayonnaise: I used Hellman’s. You can always add extra mayonnaise, if desired.
For the butter spread:
- Butter: I used unsalted butter for my spread.
- Garlic powder: You can also used minced garlic but I find garlic powder mixes more evenly with the melted butter.
What to serve with this recipe
This recipe is really versatile. Last time I made these, I served them with a fresh veggie tray and ranch dip. Chips, fries, cut fruit, or onion rings are all good options to serve with these sliders.
How to make
To make this recipe, begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Next, in a large skillet brown your ground beef and drain any fat. Add the spices over the meat. Set it aside to cool. Add the onion and bell pepper with the butter and saute them over medium heat until soft.
Slice your Hawaiian rolls in half. Set the tops aside and add the mayonnaise to the bottom. Add the ground beef on top and then the onions and peppers. Next, cover with provolone.
Add the tops of the rolls back on. In a small pan, melt the butter and then whisk in the garlic powder.
Brush with the melted butter and garlic mixture and then bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasty.
Tips
- If you are diehard Cheeze Whiz fan, then feel free to swap out the provolone.
- Sauteed mushrooms also go great on these sliders.
