Christmas time truly is the most magical time of year. We have been having a ton of fun getting ready for Christmas at our house. My oldest loves doing secret message printables (or I guess you could also call them decoding printables) so I wanted to make one for our elf to leave behind.

Text that says, "Secret message from Santa." Below the text is a mock up of the printable.

💚 Why you’ll love this printable

  • Boredom buster: This printable is great to use just for some Christmas fun or to do when it is just too cold outside to do much.
  • Use as an activity from your Elf: If your family has an elf that visits each Christmas, have your elf leave this printable behind for your child to solve.
  • Challenging: This is a great activity for kids to do. It takes some thinking skills to decode the message.

🔎 How to use this secret message printable

There are a lot of fun ways to use this secret message from Santa. I think one of the best ideas out there is to say that your elf has brought it. You can also do it the night before Christmas before leaving cookies out.

Another fun idea would be to mail this to your child so it looks like it came from Santa’s workshop. If you have another idea for using this message, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

🕵️‍♀️ How to decode the message

Your child will decode the message by using the key at the bottom of the page. Each number will represent a letter to reveal what the message from Santa says.
