❤️ Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Easy: This is a super easy snack mix to put together for parties, potlucks, or just to snack on.
  • Versatile: You can easily swap some of the ingredients out for what you have on hand or for your favorites.
  • Taste: This is a mild yet well seasoned party mix.

🥣 Ingredients needed

The ingredients needed to make Amish Party Mix.

The complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Cheerios
  • Corn and Wheat Chex: Or you can use a combination of corn, wheat, and rice.
  • Mixed nuts: I prefer to use unsalted nuts since they are seasoned with the rest of the mix. If you prefer more salt, you can use salted.
  • Pretzels: Any bite sized pretzel will work (twists or sticks).
  • Butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder: The seasonings for the mix.

Variations

  • Switch up the type of Chex you use. You can use all of one type or use a combination of rice, corn, and wheat Chex.
  • You can add more of your favorite nuts
  • Try adding a cup of cheddar crackers (such as Goldfish or Cheez Its) or oyster crackers.

⏲️ Recipe instructions (step by step guide)

A collage with three images showing how to make Amish Party Mix.

Begin by preheating your oven to 250° and greasing or adding a piece of parchment paper to a large baking sheet.

Next, on your stove top melt your butter. Once the butter is melted, whisk in your seasonings. Alternatively, you can melt your butter in the microwave if you like.

In a large bowl combine the other ingredients and gently stir. Spread on the baking sheet then pour the butter mixture over it.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes while stirring every 30 minutes or so.

👩🏻‍🍳 Tips

  • Try doubling this recipe to gift to friends. This savory snack mix is a great alternative to sweet Christmas treats.
  • Traditionally, the Amish use their stove top to melt the butter but you can use your microwave if you like.

🥡 How to store leftovers

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature. Leftover party mix will be good for up to five days after making.
