❤️ Why you’ll love this recipe
- Easy: This is a very easy recipe to make. There are just a few simple steps and then everything is mostly hands off in the oven.
- Flavor: This snack mix is extra bold and loaded with garlic flavor.
- Versatile: Swap some of the ingredients for your favorites. For instance, you can use all corn Chex instead of a mix of Chex or you can use all peanuts instead of mixed nuts.
🥣 Ingredients needed
For this recipe, you will need:
- Corn and rice cereal: Such as Chex.
- Pretzels: You’ll want to use bite sized pretzels or small pretzel sticks.
- Mixed nuts: I used unsalted but you can use salted if prefer a saltier Chex Mix.
- Butter: I used unsalted butter because this recipe calls for seasoned salt. I didn’t want the mix to be too salty.
- Seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder: The seasonings for the mix.
- Worcestershire sauce
Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.
🧂 Variations
- Cereal: You can use any combination of corn, rice, or wheat Chex as long as there are 8 cups of cereal.
- Swap it out: You can swap or omit any of the snack mix ingredients as long as you sub something in its place.

Homemade Chex Mix will be good for about five days after making. After that, it starts to go stale.
You can vacuum seal homemade Chex Mix to enjoy later. Just be careful not to crush the cereal when sealing. Manual mode may work best so you can be sure it doesn’t get crushed.
