❤️ Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Quick and easy: This is so quick to throw together as a last minute appetizer idea.
  • Simple ingredients: This recipe uses just a few simple ingredients.
  • Taste: The creamy burrata and tangy tomato sauce pair perfectly together.

🥣 Ingredients needed

The ingredients needed to make baked burrata.

The complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the printable recipe card further below in the post.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Burrata
  • Marinara sauce: Use your favorite bold marinara sauce for this recipe. I used Rao’s. I recommend using marinara sauce and not pasta sauce.
  • Fresh basil
  • Red pepper flakes (optional): These are optional but add a really nice touch.
  • Toasted bread: Serving the burrata on toasted bread is a must. Sourdough or a flatbread are really nice with this dish.

🍴Variations

You can add a few red pepper flakes, if you like. You could even serve this with mini meatballs for a heartier appetizer.

🔪 Equipment needed

You’ll need an 8 x 8 inch casserole dish.

⏲️ Recipe instructions (step by step guide)

A collage with two images showing the steps on how to make baked burrata.

Preheat your oven to 350 F degrees and spray a casserole dish with non-stick spray. Add your favorite marinara sauce (I recommend Rao’s or another bold marinara sauce) and the chopped basil (image 1).

Add the burrata to the middle of the dish (image 2). If you like you can red pepper flakes to taste.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until everything is nice and bubbly. Serve with toasted bread.

👩🏻‍🍳 Tips

  • Try adding mini meatballs to this dish for a heartier appetizer.
  • Be sure to use marinara sauce and not just a pasta sauce. Marinara is better for dipping.

🥡 How to store leftovers

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in your fridge. Leftovers will be good for two days after making.
