This Outback copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe always gets rave reviews from friends and family. Once you prepare it, you’ll get the hang of it and then you’ll be able to rotate it in and out of your weekly dinner menu. It’s actually not that much harder to prepare than this Honey Mustard Chicken recipe, who knew?
My husband loves this copycat Alice Springs chicken and it’s always fun to make for Valentine’s day or for when I want him to feel special. I most always have all the ingredients on hand too which makes things that much easier. Overall, it’s actually not an overly difficult recipe to make so I like to rotate it into our meal plan whenever I have chicken breast to use up. It always makes for such a fantastic dinner.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a HUGE fan of copycat recipes. It is so fun to create a delicious recipe at home that tastes just like the restaurant’s version!
What to serve with Alice Springs chicken?
I love to make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe with a loaf of Honey Molasses bread. It tastes very similar to the delicious brown bread they serve. Baked potatoes, green beans, salad, and baked sweet potatoes also go really well with this dish.
Tips for making this recipe
I recommend sauteing your chicken with the bacon and then finishing it in the oven. You can also experiment with how much cheese to use (you can certainly add more, if desired). You can also omit the mushrooms if you’re not a fan or don’t have any on hand.

How to make Alice Springs chicken
To make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe, gather your ingredients. Then add the mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise in a small bowl and whisk until they are well mixed.
Chop the bacon into small pieces and begin to fry it in a pan on medium heat. When the bacon begins to cook, season the chicken with salt and pepper and then add the chicken to the bacon. Cook for approximately three minutes (note that the chicken will NOT be done).
In an oven safe pan (I used a glass Pyrex pan), add the chicken breasts and cover them with the prepared honey mustard, bacon pieces, mushrooms, and cheese.
Bake for approximately 30 at minutes at 350 degrees or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
