⏲️ How to make this recipe (step by step guide)

step by step guide on how to make Copycat Outback Alice Springs Chicken.. There are four steps labeled on a collage.

To make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe, gather your ingredients. Then add the mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise in a small bowl and whisk until they are well mixed.

Season your chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Chop the bacon into small pieces and begin to fry it in a pan on medium heat. When the bacon begins to cook, season the chicken with salt and pepper and then add the chicken to the bacon. Cook for approximately three minutes (note that the chicken will NOT be done).

In an oven safe pan (I used a glass Pyrex pan), add the chicken breasts and cover them with the prepared honey mustard, bacon pieces, mushrooms, and cheese.

Bake for approximately 30 at minutes at 350 degrees or until chicken is thoroughly cooked

💭 Tips for making this recipe

  • You can add more or less cheese depending on your preference.
  • If you’re not a fan of mushrooms, leave them out.
  • There’s no need for the chicken to completely cook on the stove top, it will finish cooking in the oven. This will also help keep it juicy.

🥬 What to serve with this recipe

I love to make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe with a loaf of Honey Molasses bread. It tastes very similar to the delicious brown bread they serve.

If you want to stay on the Outback theme try a green salad with this copycat Outback ranch dressing and a side of copycat Outback macaroni and cheese.

Baked potatoes, green beans, salad, and baked sweet potatoes also go really well with this dish.

🥡 How to store leftovers

Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container in your fridge. It will be good for four days after making.
