Loaded with cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and honey mustard sauce, what’s not to love? This copycat Alice Springs chicken is the perfect copycat recipe to make at home.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a HUGE fan of copycat recipes. It is so fun to create a delicious recipe at home that tastes just like the restaurant’s version. This copycat Alice Springs chicken is so easy to recreate at home.

Overall, this chicken is actually not an overly difficult recipe to make so I like to rotate it into our meal plan whenever I have chicken breast to use up. It always makes for such a fantastic dinner.

What to serve with this recipe?

I love to make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe with a loaf of Honey Molasses bread. It tastes very similar to the delicious brown bread they serve. Baked potatoes, green beans, salad, and baked sweet potatoes also go really well with this dish.

    Tips for making this recipe

I recommend sauteing your chicken with the bacon and then finishing it in the oven. You can also experiment with how much cheese to use (you can certainly add more, if desired). You can also omit the mushrooms if you’re not a fan or don’t have any on hand.

What ingredients are needed for this recipe?

To make copycat Alice Springs chicken, you’ll need:

    • Chicken breast: You’ll need three to four boneless and skinless chicken breasts for this recipe.
    • Salt, pepper, and paprika: To season the chicken with
    • Regular mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise: For the sauce.
    • Bacon: You’ll need six pieces of bacon.
    • Mushrooms: You can use fresh or canned mushrooms. You’ll need sliced mushrooms.
    • Cheddar and Monterrey jack cheese: To top the chicken with.

    How to make this recipe

To make this copycat Alice Springs chicken recipe, gather your ingredients. Then add the mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise in a small bowl and whisk until they are well mixed.

Season your chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Chop the bacon into small pieces and begin to fry it in a pan on medium heat. When the bacon begins to cook, season the chicken with salt and pepper and then add the chicken to the bacon. Cook for approximately three minutes (note that the chicken will NOT be done).

In an oven safe pan (I used a glass Pyrex pan), add the chicken breasts and cover them with the prepared honey mustard, bacon pieces, mushrooms, and cheese.

Bake for approximately 30 at minutes at 350 degrees or until chicken is thoroughly cooked
