My kids are huge fans of Dr. Suess. I think one of their all time favorites was How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Green Eggs and Ham. Fox in Socks has recently started to take the limelight, though. Who doesn’t love a good Dr. Suess book? I am huge fan of using a book to learn with or do crafts with. It helps make the book more memorable and enforces a love of reading which is so important for kids.
Great for at home fun or a classroom setting
This Fox in Socks activity is great for both at home fun with your child, homeschool preschool, or even a classroom setting. One really fun idea in a classroom setting would be to have each student decorate their sock and then display them on a big cork-board on or a classroom door.
My kids had a blast doing this activity after reading the book and I loved this activity because it was super simple to set up. It’s also great because you can use whatever craft supplies you have on hand to decorate the socks. Nothing special is needed and the below printable is super easy to download.
What reading level is Fox in Socks?
Fox in Socks is great for children anywhere from 3 to 7 years old but this activity is really flexible. Even younger toddlers can take part in decorating their own sock. Just watch out for small craft pieces if you are doing this activity with a younger toddler.
