🥣 Ingredients needed

The ingredients needed to make V8 Turkey Chili.

Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Ground turkey: I recommend using lean ground turkey.
  • Canned diced tomatoes with green chiles: I recommend using the mild blend.
  • White onion
  • Green bell pepper
  • Chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder: The seasonings for the chili.
  • V8 vegetable juice: You can use regular or low sodium.
  • Canned kidney beans
  • White beans: You can use your favorite variety of white beans such as Great Northern or Cannellini.
  • Salt and pepper: I recommend doing salt and pepper to taste. I found that I didn’t need any due to the V8 juice.

🌶️Variations

You can also make this chili with lean ground beef or ground bison, if desired.

🔪 Equipment needed

You will need either a large pot (to cook on your stove top) or a slow cooker.

Stove-top instructions

Dice your onion and bell pepper (remove the seeds, membranes, and stem) into small pieces.

Brown your ground turkey in a large pot with the diced onion and green bell pepper then drain the fat.

Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. Let the chili simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Slow cooker instructions

Dice your onion and bell pepper (remove the seeds, membranes, and stem) into small pieces.

Brown the ground turkey and then drain the fat.

Spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray and add the ground turkey.

Add the remaining ingredients and then stir well. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

🥗 What to serve with this recipe

Crackers, shredded cheese, corn chips, or cornbread (our favorites are this Amish Cornbread and sweet Cake Mix Cornbread) all pair nicely with this chili.

👩🏻‍🍳 Tips

  • The V8 juice does a lot of the heavy lifting in this recipe. I found I didn’t need to add salt and pepper but you can add some to taste, if you like.

🥡 How to store leftovers

Store any leftover chili in an airtight container in your fridge. It will be good for up to four days after making.
