Ingredients needed to make Amish banana muffins.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Ripe bananas: The darker your bananas, the sweeter your banana muffins will turn out. You will need about three medium bananas for this recipe.
  • Sugar and brown sugar
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Flour
  • Milk
  • Oil: You can use vegetable oil or another neutral oil like safflower oil.

You can add half of a cup of chopped nuts or chocolate chips into the batter, if you like.

You will need a mixing bowl, hand mixer, and a lined muffin tin.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a muffin tin with liners.

In a large mixing bowl, add the bananas. Mash them with your mixer (image 1).

Add the remaining ingredients. Mix until well combined (image 2). Do not over mix.

Pour into the lined muffin tin to about ⅔ full (image 3). Do not overfill.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the middle. They should be lightly browned.

  • ½ cup sugar
