I try not to overdo it on the fried chicken but every few months or so we pick up dinner from Popeyes. It’s easy, delicious, and my kids love their chicken tenders.
I’m working on creating some Popeyes copycat recipes and the first one on my list was their blackened ranch. Is being a ranch connoisseur a thing? If so, I’d like to become one! I love their blackened ranch and it is actually super easy to make at home.
Ingredients needed
This copycat recipe is actually pretty easy to make at home. You will need:
- Mayonnaise: Use a regular mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip or light mayo).
- Buttermilk: Shake your buttermilk up a little before adding it for the best results.
- Sour cream: Full fat is best.
- Garlic powder, dried parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper: The spices for the ranch mix.
- Blackened seasoning: I was able to find blackened seasoning at my local grocery store (H-E-B, here in Texas). If you can’t find it in your local grocery store’s spice isle, you can grab some from Amazon. Also, my blackened seasoning had salt already added so definitely add salt to taste for this recipe.
Tips
- If you want a thicker ranch, add extra mayonnaise to this recipe.
- Do salt to taste since your blackened seasoning may already have salt added.
- Be sure to let the dip sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes. This will bring out the flavors.
How to store
Store this ranch in airtight container in your refrigerator (I usually use a mason jar). It will be good for one week after making.
