This dry mix really is the best burger seasoning ever. It is a little sweet, a little spicy, and makes for wonderfully flavorful burgers.
It’s summertime and that means it’s time to grill. It is so hot here in Texas during the summer so we like to do a lot of grill recipes and crockpot recipes as to not heat up the kitchen.
You don’t have to use this seasoning only for grilling. This burger seasoning is great for pan fried burgers too! This burger seasoning is also really good on bison burgers.

Ingredients needed
For this burger seasoning mix, you will need:
- Paprika
- Black pepper
- Brown sugar
- Garlic salt
- Onion powder
- Cumin
- Cayenne pepper
How to season the burgers
- Divide your meat into patties.
- Sprinkle the seasoning on top of each burger patty, do not mix it in the meat. This will create a delicious crust on top.
- Cook or pan fry your burgers.
Tips for this recipe
- This recipe is enough for four burgers but you can easily double the recipe if you’re grilling for a crowd.
- Don’t mix the seasoning in the meat. Sprinkle it on top for the best flavor.
- If you have extra, store in a mason jar or another glass container that is air tight. It does best in a cool and dark place like your pantry.
- Try this recipe as a rub for grilled chicken thighs.
Other tips for grilling burgers
- Try adding a little unsalted butter on top or inside your patties. This will add extra moisture and flavor.
- Toast your buns.
- Let your grill heat up all the way before you cook the burgers.
